The U14 panel today was fourteen strong and Keith Murray the new mentor favoured Niall Acton as captain and he went above and beyond on the pitch today.

Himself and Liam O’Connor played some great stuff in midfield, which really spurred the rest of the meadow boys on. First match against a very strong Naas side. Great hurling from our newbies and the final score was towers 0g 4p V. Naas. 2g 4p not bad considering half these lads only held a hurl for the first time on Wednesday night, the Murray lad has the Midas touch.

Two more matches against a combined Crumlin/ Towers U13 which I think the U14’s shaded it by a couple of points and then a combined Towers 13/14’s team against Naas.

The prayers said earlier in the week for good weather didn’t fall on deaf ears and I can only say the Towers teams have some of the best parents in the country with lots of food and drinks laid on for all in the clubhouse which was sparkling thanks to Jimmy and Sally.

A huge thanks to our juvenile chairman Niall Connaughton who removed any and all roadblocks to get this team into existence and was on hand today to take some great snaps.
