Under13 Football League Division 7 – 16/10/10 Round Tower 2-10 Erin Go Braigh 6-7 In their final league match of the season Round Towers winning streak came to an end when they were beaten by a superior Erin Go Braigh team at Littlepace on Saturday afternoon. Fielding an understrength team with no substitutions Towers were the better team in the first half. Helped by a slight breeze Towers raced into an early lead with some good point taking from Conor O’Shea, Conor Fleming and Calvin Connolly. One point scored by Conor Fleming from a sideline kick was the standout score from the first half. Ominously Erin Go Braigh managed to steal in for two goals late in the first half to leave the score at half time Round Towers 1-10, Erin Go Braigh 2-2. Erin Go Braigh were the better team in the second half and constant pressure yielded a flurry of goals. Towers managed only 1 score in the second half and despite some great defending by Sean Doran, Jack Whelan and Darren Gilligan the forwards were unable to penetrate the excellent defence of Erin Go Braigh.
