Our Under 11 Footballers and Hurlers are the first teams from the club to sign up to the GAA’s Code of Behaviour.

 

Players, mentors and parents associated with both teams signed the Code at a ceremony in the clubhouse last week that was attended by Club Chairman Tony Delaney and Juvenile Committee Chair Catherine Moran (You can view Tommy Keogh’s pictures from the launch here – www.flickr.com/photos/roundtowers ). Respect, fair play, equality, safety and no discrimination are the underlying principles behind the Code of Behaviour. It addresses minimum appropriate levels ofbehaviour, practice and conduct required from young players, coaches, mentors,supporters, parents/guardians, referees and clubs. All teams representing theclub under 18 years will be asked to sign up to the Code that is being promotedby the following National Governing Bodies:

·        Cumann Lúthcleas Gael (GAA)

·        An Cumann Camógaíochta (The Camogie Association)

·        Cumann Peil Gael na mBan (Ladies Gaelic FootballAssociation)

·        Liathróid Láimhe CLG na hÉireann (GAA Handballof Ireland)

·        Comhairle Cluiche Corr na hÉireann (The RoundersCouncil of Ireland)
