Towers went into this Championship final on the back of a narrow away semi-final win over neighbours St Marks and confidence was high with Captain, Caroline Fallon winning the toss and electing to play with the breeze.

Centre forward Niamh Murphy registered the first score of the game from a free before midfielder Caroline Fallon fired a long delivery into the Ballinteer square which was won by Full forward Ciara Ryan. With the Ballinteer defense expecting a layoff, Ciara flicked the ball over her head and into the top corner of the net.

Two further quick goals came courtesy of corner forwards Val Kelly and Nadine Salinger before Val Kelly made it a brace with a second well taken goal. Windy conditions prevented the Towers free-takers, Niamh Murphy & Caroline Fallon from adding to the Towers tally before the break.

The breeze picked up as the second half resumed and Ballinteer were expected to fly out of the blocks but Towers kept them pressed in their own half and some stern defending from Trish Egan, Pamela Tormey, Roisin Ní Dhonnagaín & Jade Hyland kept the Towers clean sheet intact.

Sinead Kearns in midfield was seeing a lot of ball but the game descending into a scrappy affair as the young Ballinteer team were unable to create any real goal scoring chances.

Val Kelly popped up again and scored a fine point from a tight angle and this proved to be the final score of the game.

The large Towers crowd in attendance were jubilant as team Captain Caroline Fallon accepted the trophy from Brendan Cooper of the Dublin Camogie Board.
