A ‘thank you’ from the Delaney Family

The Delaney family would like to express sincere gratitude to everybody from Round Towers GAA Club for their support over the past month.

To all who helped out at our dad’s funeral, everybody who called to our homes, sent sympathy cards, baked cakes and made sandwiches. People just couldn’t do enough for us.

To Jimmy & Sally and all the bar staff in the club, you went over and beyond to help us out and make everyone feel welcome over the few days.  No doubt, Paddy would have loved to have been there with so many of his pals around the place.

To Jessica, Catherine, Phil, Brid, Trish, Val, Mary and all the ladies who worked like trojans serving beautiful food that was prepared on the day of the funeral.  So much work went into it and cleaning up afterwards.

To Farmer and Sean, both in the church and the crematorium, the music was perfect, thank you both so much.  Our dad would have been so proud and honoured to hear those great songs in his memory.

To all the Senior Team lads who helped carry the coffin, to Jack Fortune for the lovely pipes and all the members who formed the guard of honour, thank you all for showing such great respect.

Thanks too to those friends he loved to have that ‘just one more’ with over the years, you meant a lot to Paddy, you know who you are !!

Overall, we would like to say how humbled and honoured we were for such a tribute to be paid to Paddy.  The club and its members have always been like part of our family, something we’re all grateful to our dad for introducing us to. He made many life-long friends through the club and football.  We look forward to keeping those friendships going !!
