Round Tower Under 16 hurlers picked up a valuable two league points in an important Division 3 hurling clash against Setanta in the Community Centre last Tuesday, 8th July. Lying mid-table, Towers defeated the third place side in an tight encounter that brought some excellent quality scores. Towers goalscorers were Eoin Brady, who netted twice, and Darren Gilligan. Gilligan pointed four times and Matthew McLoughlin raised the arm of the umpire on six occasions – three times from frees. Cormac Peden scored two points and Liam O’Connor and Brady also pointed. Final score: Round Tower 3-14 v Setanta 2-13. 

 

The result leaves Towers on eight points, with five games remaining. Raheny top the table with 17 points. Next outing for Towers is v Castleknock who are two points ahead, and the game is away on Sunday 9th August.
