This Towers team has only recently been formed and is being coached by Annette Harrington and Gwynne Fahey. A number of the girls played with the U12 football team up to December (Aisling Seery, Emma O’Malley, Chloe Fallon Corcoran, Julia Flannery and Eibhlín Roebuck) and their experience showed throughout the game.
Emma O’Malley and Chloe Fallon Corcoran were very strong at midfield, Emma scoring a number of goals and points in the first half, which made things very difficult for Ballymun. Julia Flannery was very fast to the ball, feeding it in to the full forward line, as well as scoring herself. Aisling Seery, Eibhlín Roebuck (captain), Rebecca Condon and Erin Griffiths defended really well and gave accurate passes to the midfielders, making life easier for goalkeeper Emily Gough.
Ballymun made a valiant attempt to close the gap a little in the second half but the Towers’ girls continued to dominate the game, with further scores from Emma O’Malley, Chloe Fallon Corcoran, Julia Flannery, Kirsten Gaffney, Chloe Morris, Katelyn Price and Bronagh Roebuck. A great start for this new team, who will undoubtedly grow in confidence as the league progresses!
