IN THEIR FINAL LEAGUE GAME OF THE SEASON, TOWERS HAD A SURPRISE WIN OVER NA FIANNA WHO WERE LYING SECOND IN THE LEAGUE COMING INTO THIS MATCH. THIS WIN ENSURED TOWERS QUALIFIED FOR RELEGATION PLAY-OFF AGAINST ST FINIANS FOR A GAME THAT IS PROVISIONALLY FIXED FOR SAT 13TH NOVEMBER IN MOYLE PARK.
LUKE KELLY WAS FIRST TO SCORE FOR TOWERS AND IN A SEE-SAW MATCH BOTH TEAMS ATTACKED AND DEFENDED IN GREAT FASHION. MORE POINTS FOLLOWED FROM STEPHEN BRACKEN,CONOR O’SHEA AND THOMAS GALVIN AND WHEN A CROSS FROM CONOR’SHEA WAS DEFLECTED INTO THE NET BY A NA FIANNA DEFENDER, IT INCREASED TOWERS LEAD TO 4 POINTS. NA FIANNA FINISHED STRONGER WITH A GOAL AND 2 POINTS, DESPITE A GREAT SAVE FROM SEAN RYAN LEADING UP TO THE GOAL.THE SCORE AT HALF TIME WAS 1-5 TO 1-4 IN FAVOUR OF NA FIANNA.
TOWERS WERE THE BETTER TEAM IN THE SECOND HALF,RESTRICTING THEIR OPPONENTS TO JUST 2 POINTS. GREAT DEFENDING AND GOALKEEPING GAVE THE FORWARDS THE INCENTIVE TO DRIVE HOME SOME GREAT POINTS. THIS WAS A GREAT WIN AFTER AND GIVES THE TEAM GREAT HOPE FOR THE PLAY-OFF MATCH
