We now have two defibrillator on club grounds/premises. We have a defibrillators back in Monastery Road and another in the clubhouse. Please God these will not need to be used but members should make themselves aware of how to use them by doing a course and where they are located in the event that they are ever needed.
Nobody who has not been trained to use a defibrillator should attempt to use it as its wrong use could kill. So get a course if you attend matches as most of the club mentors are now trained but every member should how to use them.
We are now taking bookings for thenext two defib courses and the next first aid course. A full attendance is required for both for them to proceed.
You are also asked not to cancel at short notice as alot of organisation goes into getting the courses together.

PLUNKETT’S MAN KEARNEY HEIGHTENS AWARENESS OF SADS
“One of St. Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh’s favourite sons Seaghan Kearney has been busy raising awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).
Seaghan’s life was saved by the club’s defibrillator and by those heroes who were trained to use it, after he collapsed playing football at the club.
Seaghan was out collecting in Grafton Street at the weekend and he has been on the radio talking about the subject.”
EVERY CLUB SHOULD HAVE A DEFIBRILLATOR AND PERSONAL WHO KNOW HOW TO USE IT.
