RIP Jim Walsh

The death has occurred of former Towers hurler Jim Walsh.

Jim played on the first Towers adult hurling in the 60s. He was full back in the Junior B final in 1967 which was won on the field but subsequently lost to an objection.

Also on that team were Denis Rafferty, Mick Kavanagh, Mick Foley, Bernie Cronin, Vinny Kelly, Martin Burke (RIP) and Gerry Fallon (RIP).

After his playing days Jim managed under age teams in both football and hurling.

His son Paul also played both codes while grandson Jordan was centre field on the recent Junior B championship winning team.

Jim was also a member of Towers Golf Society and had a great friendship with the late Aidan Dardis.
