The Executive Committee wish to announce that due to a work assignment abroad beginning in April, our current Chairman Padraig MacCarthy
regrettably resigned from the position of Chairman on Wednesday 6th of April.
Our Vice-Chairman, Paud Byrne informed the committee that due to work commitments he is not in a position to take up the role at
this time.
In accordance with our Constitution, in situations such as this, the Executive Committee are directed to appoint a replacement from the general club membership.
Following the conclusion of last nights Executive meeting (6th April) a special Executive meeting was held with the remaining eight members of the committee, chaired by Paud Byrne. At this meeting no other candidates for Chairman were proposed. As laid down in the club constitution under Article 31, Tony Delaney was proposed & seconded and unanimously appointed to the position of Chairman. Tony has kindly agreed to take the Chairman’s post until November’s Annual General Meeting and does not intend to seek re-election.
Padraig MacCarthy, the outgoing Chairman would like to thank all members for their support during his term of office and asks that the same level of support be afforded to his successor and the committee over the coming months.
