Towers secured back to back victories over Crokes last Saturday week in Silver Park, having already beaten Crokes in Moyle Park on Tuesday by a score line of 7-7 to 3-7 to gain their first league win in six matches.
Towers were hoping to keep the improvement and they did so against a much improved Crokes side. Towers scored first through a point from Thomas Galvin, but a penalty from Crokes put them into the lead. Towers went back in front with more points from Thomas Galvin and an excellent score from Jordan Walsh. Nearing half time both teams scored a goal each, the Towers goal coming from Adam Doyle. The score at half time was Round Towers 1-5 to Kilmacud Crokes 2-1.
An early second half opportunist goal from Kevin McGibney put Towers in a commanding position for the rest of the game. The Crokes goalkeeper was outstanding making at least 6 point blank saves from the Towers attack.
Best for Round Towers were Craig Shaaban, who is improving with each game, Ciaran Ryan, Jordan Walsh and Dean Graham. Dylan Phelan and Conor Fleming won plenty of balls in midfield to keep up a good supply to the forwards of which Adam Doyle, Thomas Galvin and Kevin McGibney were the chief scorers.
