Round Towers 2-22

Fingallions 3-6

Round Towers Senior ladies made it two wins from two in the Cup on Wednesday 13th April in the community centre. Towers showed off their skill and talent with an impressive win. Towers started off badly by conceding a goal through a mistake by Caitriona McGrath and losing midfielder Sinead Kearns early on through injury. Towers forwards dug deep and brought it level with points through Catherine Roche, Hannah Tyrell and Emily Hamill. Fingallians attacked again and added three points to the tally despite good defending from Maria Kavanagh and Clare McGinty. Fingallians started to pull away when they claimed another goal. Towers stepped up with impressive work rate and runs through Aisleen Milton and Andrea Bowe. Towers clocked up two goals and several points in a fantastic fifteen minute spell before half time to put them ahead by seven at half time. The work rate and mental attitude continued in the second half despite losing a second midfielder Ruth Collins. Hannah Tyrell was particularly impressive taking over the midfield role along with Suzanne Murray. Towers continued to add scores through Catherine Roche and Emily Hamill with Maria Kavanagh also getting on the score board. The defence held strong in the second half with Eimear McGrath holding fort at full back. An overall impressive panel performance to put Towers top of the Cup competition.
