Work on Round Tower GAA Club’s historic Monastery Road development is now complete & signed off on the All weather pitch and skills wall

The astro turf carpet is laid and complete following 100 tons of sand & rubber added to the rolled surface, the goalposts erected and the pitch fully lined.

The Hurling/Skills wall is also complete.

It’s now there for all who are passing the club’s grounds, or you can view the latest pictures of the development on the club Flickr page which can be visited here. Thanks to Ger Hickey for providing us with latest set of pictures that highlight the extent of the development work.

Bígí Linn! The funding plan for the project is in place and we appeal to anyone who has not contributed so far to do so. Details on how to contribute are on our website or you can contact anyone on the development committee. Remember, these new facilities are being put in place for the development of the club and can only be completed through the support of our members and friends. There are now 289 people signed up to the Development funding project committing €250 per year – please support if you can in any shape or form!

The work on the main pitch is complete by this stage and the new grass surface will grow in time for it to be playable by this Summer.

A fundraising committee is looking for volunteers to get involved and help assist with the the funding for the project. If you have a couple of hours a week and would like to be part of this project please contact John Whelan 087 9270721.
