A Chara, As in 2013, a deadline of 31 March is set for membership subscriptions to be paid this year. In line with GAA regulations concerning membership a more than generous 4 months is permitted to pay membership. All paid up club members will be registered with Croke Park on this deadline date as per their directives. As in previous years, we have less than half our annual subscriptions currently paid. This is completely unacceptable given the running costs of the club and yet again it’s being left to the minority to carry the majority it seems. All members are informed that any membership subscribers paying after the deadline will not be afforded ‘A’ status and thus voting rights at the next AGM. This will be enforced. Any Adult players that fail to pay membership before 31 March 2014 will not be covered by the insurance scheme and not registered with Croke Park. Taking duty of care alone into consideration, no such player shall train or play with any team until membership has been paid in full. Mentors will be advised as to whom is a current paid member and will be expected to only use these players. The Executive committee certainly hope it doesn’t come to this and kindly ask mentors to again encourage players to pay their annual membership. Ultimately, it’s the entire club that lose out because of people failing to pay membership. For clarity, membership rates and categories are listed below: Adult (non player) €75 Adult (player) €125*** Adult Couple (both non players) €120*** Adult Couple (one player \ one non player) €170*** Adult Couple (both players) €220*** Family (includes both guardians \ parents & 2 or more children) €150 Minor (aged 17 – 18) €40 Student (player) €90*** OAP €20 ***Membership rates quoted above include €50 registration and insurance charge per adult player. This charge is fully refundable from the first fundraising event organised by the respective teams. Finally, it is now easier than ever before to renew membership. It can be paid in the traditional manner, by cheque or cash, any evening in the club rooms and renewal forms are at the bar. Alternatively, it can now also be paid via our website at www.roundtower.ie by debit or credit card. This option includes a facility to spread payment over a three month period. Anybody signing up to this in March will retain ‘A’ member status and any player’s registration and insurance will be deemed fully paid at the deadline date. Mise Le Meas, Andriú Ó Cróinín Leas Rúnaí
