Referee Assesors

From: Lyn Savage, National Development Officer, Ladies Gaelic Football Association

We are delighted to announce details of our 2016 National Referee Assessor Training Programme.

Please find attached documentation that will provide you with details of our referee assessor recruitment and training programme. These documents will provide clarity regarding the significance of the role and ensure that minimum standards are in place across the LGFA Assessor group at all times.

Our Referee Assessors play a major role within our Association in conducting assessments on our National Referees to ensure standards are increased and support is provided to our National Referee Panel. Referee Assessing is a very rewarding experience and provides personnel with the opportunity to influence and shape so many of our current referees which in turn raise standards of refereeing at all levels. The feedback provided through assessments allows referees to continue to progress and reach their own goals and targets.

There are a maximum of 5 referee assessor positions available for 2016. All potential candidates have to do is:

* Be aware of the commitment required to become an LGFA qualified National Referee Assessor (See National Referee Assessor Training Pathway)
* Meet the minimum criteria (See role description)
* Submit an Application Form (attached) by Monday 16th May

A panel selected by the LGFA will review the applications in line with the role description and will allocate places accordingly. Following selection by the panel, all applicants will be informed of the outcome within two weeks of the closing date.
