The matches are coming thick and fast with a number of our adult teams involved in either league title deciders or the business end of the Championship.
The Intermediate Hurlers are back in the Championship final for the first time since losing to an injury time goal v Naomh Fionbarra in 2009, they’ll be hoping to go one better this time around when they face St Sylvesters in Parnell Park on Saturday at 5.45pm.
First up this weekend were our Senior Footballers who in their final normal league game beat Naomh Barrog at home, a win which seen them take second place and a home draw against the team who finish 5th in the playoffs.
Sunday morning saw the Junior A Footballers beaten narrowly by Raheny in the semi-finals of the Junior A Championship in O’Toole Park, Towers had a free with the last kick of the game which just trailed wide. All concerned did themselves proud and the absence of several key players didn’t help. They now turn their attention to gaining promotion and a possible ‘League final’ v Raheny which should decide the winners of AFL5.
The Junior B Footballers who have reached the Sheridan Cup final, find their division 9 league decider postponed for a week as their opponents, St Oliver Plunketts are playing Championship. Win that game at home and they win the league.
Our Gaelic 4 Fathers team are hosted Newbridge Sarsfields, Beann Eadair and Fingallians in a four team tournament on the Astro pitch in Monastery Road on Saturday, full details on front page of website.
