Round Tower’s U15 hurler Gary Quinlivan and his Dublin South Team mates travelled to Marshalstown G.A.A Club in Wexford to take part in this competition. First match was Dublin South Vs Westmeath where Dublin ran out easy winners.
Next in line were Kilkenny North which proved to be a much tougher match, Dublin lost out to Kilkenny and that left them to face Dublin North in the shield semi final. This was a keenly contested local derby but saw Dublin South run out winners by 7 points.
The lads had a short break and then it was off to Raparees Club in Enniscorthy to face Antrim in the Shield Final. This was held on their new pitch and a big crowd watched the game.
This was point for point all the way through but Dublin got a goal from a huge clearance from the half back line by Gary. This gave the lads a great boost and Dublin won out winners by 4 points.
Well done to all involved and to Gary in particular for representing Round Towers at this level for the last 3 years and hopefully there is more to come.
