Well done to the Gaelic for Fathers team for their great performance against the Cloverhill Prision Officers in the second of their challenge games. After a heavy defeat in the first game, the Towers lads really dug deep and played their hearts out against a very polished outfit. The final score was 4-13 to 3-14 in favour of Cloverhill and Tower’s victory was denied by some brilliant point blank saves by Paul Carroll (our player!) and a brilliant goal scored for them by Duncan Higgins (Roscommon’s finest footballer since Dermot Earley!) Top scorers for Towers that night were Gavin Lawler and John O’Malley, but a special mention to some of the Towers newbies, Jimmy Coleman and Dave Mahon who had great games in the defence. In fact all of the 26 players in attendance for the night played outstandingly well. Next up for Towers is a challenge match against Frankie McKenna’s Truaigh in early August and an invite to their tournament in Mid August. Exciting times allround!
