The Gaelic for Fathers team competed in a blitz in Truagh, Monaghan on Saturday last.
The blitz went very well yesterday, although we did not win any of our three matches we were very competitive in two of our three matches.
Our first game was against Keady from Armagh and we lost 2-7 1-3, but at one stage in the second half we were level at 0-3 each and they scored two quick goals to pull away.
We were well beaten in the second game by the hosts Truagh who went on to win the shield and then we lost the last game by four points to Eaglais who went on to win the whole tournament (Eaglais had hammered Truaigh as well).
In that part of the country there is not much Junior football played but they play recreational football on a league basis and all our opponents yesterday are all experienced accomplished footballers. Some of our players also went on to assist some of the other teams in the finals as well, so our participation was much appreciated.
