Round Tower GAA Club extends its sympathies to the family Fred Shields. ‘Freddy’ was a lifelong member of the club and the Shield’s family are actively involved in playing and supporting Gaelic Games in Round Tower. The death has occurred of Frederick (Fred) SHIELDS

Clondalkin, Dublin

Shields, Frederick (Fred), 1st November 2019 (Clondalkin and formerly of the Liberties), peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Beaumont Hospital. Much loved husband of Dolores and loving dad of Martina, Tara, Joanne, Dolores and Alan. Fred will be very sadly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren Erika, Brian, John Paul, Lee, Nadine, Emma, Robert, Craig, Ava, Max, Saidbh, Tadhg, Cillian, Milly, Fiadh, Moya and Libby, great-grandchildren Emily, Alfie, Esme, Annie and Freddie, sons-in-law Brian, John Paul, Robbie and Brian, daughter-in-law Kris, brother Jimmy, sisters Ann and Doris, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 1pm in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Clondalkin Village and afterwards to Newlands Cross Cemetery for burial. Family flowers only please. Donations, in lieu, to Beaumont Hospital Dialysis Centre. Donation box in church.
