Round Tower GAA Club is delighted to announce Galway senior footballers will provide the opposition for the Dublin footballers to mark the official opening of Monastery Road on Saturday 20th April.
The Tribesmen, under the stewardship of Alan Mulholland, will travel to Clondalkin to compete against league semi-finalists Dublin, with throw-in at 7pm. Regarded as one of the country’s premier footballing forces, the Galway footballers will provide a stern test for Towers man Jim Gavin’s talented Dublin side and his emerging crop of outstanding talent.
Tony Delaney, Round Tower GAA Club Chairman commented: "This is a unique opportunity for members, supporters and the wider Clondalkin community to welcome two of the country’s top Gaelic footballing sides to the community. In particular, we’re enormously proud to welcome club member and Clondalkin native Jim back to Clondalkin as manager of the Dublin footballers for this historic and proud occasion in our club’s 129 year history. It should prove to be a great occasion and we extend an invitation to all."
Tickets are priced at €10 for adults, concessions are priced at €5 and children under 16 have free admission.
For the game, there is limited car-parking, but the 69 bus (from the city and Newcastle) stops outside the door. The 13 from Ballymun, via the city centre, stops three minutes from the ground.
The LUAS (Red Line – Red Cow stop) is a 10-minute walk away.
