A letter from Philip and Gemma Carr to club members and the wider Clondalkin community
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to you all on the support and friendship you have shown to us since we lost Ciaran on the 20th of January Last. Firstly we have to send our deepest appreciation to all Ciaran’s team mates and management who have had to deal with the trauma they suffered that night, we are so thankful to
you, for all you have done for us, more than you will ever know.
No one knows the time and help that was given to us, to help cope with our tragedy, we are deeply grateful to all our club members. To all who helped with Ciaran’s funeral arrangements and to all the helpers who rallied around and waited on us all so skilfully and diligently, on the day of the funeral and again at the month’s mind we can only say a thousand thanks. To the Gardaí who organised the journey from our home till we reached the graveyard, we cannot thank you enough, to
all who helped behind the bar; we know you were run off your feet, many thanks.
To the many hundreds of you that visited our home to say your last farewell to Ciaran, thank you it was such a comfort to us, and it made us very proud to know Ciaran was thought of so highly within the club and had so many friends.
As you may know Ciaran was to celebrate his 21st Birthday this month with a party in the club on Saturday 24th next, we have decided to hold a fundraiser on the night to remember him. It will be in aid of the CRY Unit (Cardiac Risk in the Young) Unit, Tallaght Hospital. All are welcome.
Finally we can only say a heartfelt thanks to all, no matter how small your contribution was, to all that has been done to us, you are, for sure a great club and one we should be very proud to be involved in or be part of.
Kind Regards
Philip & Gemma
