Camogie takes over the Commo!

Sunday 11th September was the day that our Camogie Section got to show their talent in the beautiful surface of the Community Centre, where we hosted Cobh Camogie Club. We played Cobh’s U14 team, using a combination of our U13 panel with some additional players from this year’s Feile panel (Lauren and Kirsten) and one other player (Hannah)from the U16 team. We use the term “challenge” match and it certainly was a keenly contested affair with Cobh coming out winners by 4-10 to 4-5, with some great skills on show. On the other pitch our U10/U11 selection took on a similar age group from Cobh and this too was a very close game, with some great end to end action. After the games, we adjourned to the clubhouse and both teams and coaches and parents enjoyed some excellent refreshments before and onward journey to Croke Park for the Camogie All Ireland Finals. A presentation on behalf of the Cobh Camogie Club was made and we hope that our games will become a regular event. Thanks to Jessie O’Malley and her brother Kevin, for organising the fixtures and to the parents and also Jimmy & Sally who facilitated the after match event.
