Welcome to the Executive Committee update for June 2025.
Below are some of the positive developments across all aspects of club life which were reported on at the meeting. Each of the updates aligns to at least one of the four core values identified in our Towers Abú Strategy (Excellence, Respect, Integrity, One Club – One Identity)
Success of Féile Teams – Camogie & Hurling (Towers Abú – Excellence)
A huge congratulations to our Camogie and Hurling Féile teams who proudly represented Round Tower GAA at the recent Regional Féile competitions.
Our Camogie team travelled to Cork, hosted by Éire Óg GAA, and gave a fantastic performance to finish runners-up in the Shield. Meanwhile, our Hurlers brought home the Shield title, capping off a brilliant weekend of sport and teamwork in Tipperary.
Well done to all players, coaches, and supporters — you’ve done the Club proud!
New Club Partnership with McKeever Sports (Towers Abú – Excellence)
As many of you will have seen, the club is proud to announce a new partnership with McKeever Sports as our official sporting goods supplier. Following a detailed selection process, McKeever was chosen for their commitment to quality, value, and availability — aligning closely with our Club’s values of Respect, Excellence, Integrity, and Unity.
We’re confident this partnership will deliver top-class playing and leisure gear for all members.
The extended procurement process was led by Ken Byrne, Liam MacLaughlin, Sarita Johnston, Niall Kelly and Mark O’Brien.
We will be providing further information over the coming weeks and months.

Facilities Officer Michael McAdam would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort to help prepare and install the new dugouts. Their hard work and commitment to the club is truly appreciated.
The role of referees (Towers Abú – Excellence, Towers Abú – Respect)
As we approach the summer break for our juvenile games our referees coordinator Brian Douglas has provided an update on how our juvenile refs have been supporting games so far this year. Since January a total of 215 games have been covered by our team. We have had refs out at Football, Camogie & Hurling.
Games covered
U8-33
U9- 35
U10- 37
U11- 45
U12- 58
Schools Blitz – 6
Referees play a critical role in our games and as you can see from the numbers our dedicated team have been busy supporting teams and mentors at all ages. Off the pitches we have had an opportunity to bring 10 new refs onboard. In February we had 5 new Level 2 refs qualify and as late as May an additional 5 Level 1 refs graduated. I want to take this opportunity to thank the 27 active refs on the panel for their commitment so far this season. It’s important to also call out the mentors who work with the refs each week to ensure we have respectful sidelines.
