A Chara,

Round Tower GAA Club is delighted to welcome you to the official launch of our Monastery Road

Development on the evening of Saturday, September 18.

We have embarked upon an ambitious development plan for our playing facilities in Clondalkin

village and will unveil our proposals at a social evening that will provide musical entertainment

the night before the All-Ireland Football final. We see this as a momentous occasion in the club’s

history and it is affording us the opportunity to outline our plans to transform our grounds at

Monastery Road into state-of-the art playing facilities. The musical entertainment on the night

is being provided by traditional Irish music band Macheef and there will be no admission charge.

We expect this development to bring benefits to the community for decades to come. The club put a

development committee in place at the end of 2009 and after careful planning and consultation with

experts across a range of fields, we are now presenting our plan for the ambitious and much needed

€750,000 development. We will outline the plan in detail on the night and among the features being

proposed are an all-weather training pitch, skills wall and a quality playing surface to enable young

people to develop their playing and social skills in a safe environment that will be in the heart of the

community.

We are keen to bring the community on board and need your help in allowing us make this plan

come to fruition. We already have a number of grants secured for the development and are looking

to raise €250,000 to see the dream become a reality.

Since its establishment in 1884 – the founding year of the GAA – Round Tower GAA Club has been

an integral part of the Clondalkin community and has been to the fore in providing young and old

with crucial recreational and social activities. We want the wider Clondalkin community to support

us and be part of this exciting venture, of which considerable progress has already been made.

We hope you can join us on the evening of Saturday, September 18th at 8.30pm, and we will be

happy to speak with you publicly or in confidence, about any questions you may have concerning

the development. If you cannot make it on the evening, you can contact me on 0879067924 and I

would be happy to take you through the development. Our website, www.roundtower.ie , also has

extensive information about the plan.

Many thanks for your support over the years and I thank you now in advance of your support into

the future,

Is mise le meas,

Padraig MacCarthy,

Chairman,

Round Tower GAA Club
