The under 8 camogie girls played their first match of the season in Kevin’s on Sunday. For most of the girls it was their first time to wear the Towers jersey, experience playing against other clubs while also playing on grass! On a cold Mother’s day morning it was great to see so many parents cheering on the Towers. Our first match up was against Faughs and the girls got stuck in from the start. The tackles were flying in and the girls never gave up and continued to battle on till the end. Our next match was also against Faughs; the Towers this time around were adapting more to the grass and put in a great display. We got our first goals of the season with some great team play with the sliotar being worked down the pitch from the goalie to the forwards who put it away. It was great to see so many girls out and a big thank you to all the parents for bringing them down. With the numbers we have we are probably in a position to put two teams out and would welcome any new players to help us achieve this. Onwards and upwards. Thanks to Angela Quinlan for report.
Team: Kitty Quinlan, Elsie White, Imogen Sullivan, Laoise Brennan, Tara Kelly, Shonagh Byrne, Veeka Kelly, Carly Egan, Amelia and Ella O’Sullivan, Caoimhe Rafferty, Emma Kilvarry, Lauren Kiernan and Alicia Kelly.
