This Sunday 160 girls, eight Dublin Clubs and 18 teams will assemble at Monastery Road for the Clondalkin Under 9 Girls Football Blitz. The clubs participating are as follows:
- Round Tower – 3 teams,
- Na Fianna – 3 teams
- Kilmacud Crokes – 3 teams,
- St. Finians Swords – 2 teams,
- Raheny – 2 teams,
- Balinteer St Johns – 2 teams,
- Naomh Olaf – 2 team
- Thomas Davis – 1 team
Games will be 7-9 players a-side and straight 10 minutes, with no half time. There are unlimited substitutions and there will be one hop, one solo during the games.
The ethos of the blitz is “Every Child Gets a Go”. Keep the games skills based & balanced; every team is a winner. No score keeping. It’s important that all of the girls get a sense of achievement, fun and fair play from their involvement in the blitz. Mentors and parents are encouraged to work together to help them achieve these goals.
Registration begins at 12:30. All teams must be registered before 13:00. The registration fee is €20:00 per team. The registration fee covers: Referees & treats for the children once the final games have been played.
