We’re now at Day 3 in our Countdown to the All-Ireland Football Final 2013. Once again we are commemorating club member Jim Gavin’s excellent and unique achievement of guiding Dublin to an All Ireland Football Final. Today we are bringing together memories of Jim’s playing days with the club and even going back to his school playing days! We’ve brought together a gallery of press clippings going back over a number years that feature Jim, the club and Clonburris school. The gallery, which is featured on the club Flickr page, brings us from the mid-2000’s back in time to the 1990’s and the earliest clipping is a Dublin Primary Schools League Johnson Mooney & O’Brien Cup Final programme dating back to 1982. Jim is listed at corner forward on the Clonburris team. The dates of the clippings – when available – are provided in their title along with the match scoreline. Towers supporters will recognise many past and even present players in the pictures and relive happy and disappointing memories. The clippings help underline the superb service Jim has provided to Round Tower GAA Club and Clondalkin over many years. Thanks to Sean McNamara and Darren Byrne for providing the clippings.
