U13’s Camogie Result Round Tower 4-1 v Commercials (Rathcoole) 0-0. venue: Monastery Road. Sunday 12th In what was a much anticipated match from Tower’s perspective, the Camógs faced arch rivals Commercials, whom they have not beaten in six outings over the last three years. This seventh match-up started out with Towers going one goal up within minutes when Aisling Serry scored a wonderful goal from all of thirty yards out. Commercials came back with all guns blazing but Tower’s back line of Croia Byrne, Fiona Walsh, Hannah Clark, Lauren Doyle, Lauren Egan and in particular goalkeeper Chloe Murphy were in fine form. With ten minutes gone Towers struck with another well taken goal, set up by Hannah Clark and well finished by Aibí Ward. Commercials were just not allowed to play their normal game, Lauren Doyle and Saoirse Walsh keeping them at bay. Commercials were unlucky not to score at the start of the second half as the sliotar was saved off the line by a razor sharp reaction from keeper Chloe Murphy. Towers kept up the attacks with Emma O’ Malley trying hard to utilise her skills. In the 45th minute a brilliantly taken puck from 35 yards out flew into the back of the opposition’s net from Hannah Clark. Towers were now three goals up and from here on their confidence was clearly showing as young Caoilfhionn Doran made a twenty-five yard run with the sliotar. Towers used their subs well today, with players being brought on and off when needed. One of the subs who came on was Mia Finnegan, who has been missed for the last few weeks with injury. Within ten minutes her presence was felt with some great play from Caoilfhionn Doran, Martha Kirk and O’ Malley, resulting in a superb goal for Mia, Towers now four goals up.Towers new girl Ellen Trenaman came up and made her presence felt with some good play. Commercials, in fairness, kept playing and working hard for each other but today was the the young camog’s day from Clondalkin and it was finished off by a great Emma O’Mally point from a free.
