In championship hurling, the juniors lost to St. Pats Palmerstown. The intermediate footballers defeated St Finian’s Newcastle in the cup. The senior ladies footballers defeated Clanna Gael in the league. A tremendous weekend of celebration to mark the official opening of the Monastery Road development was had. The gala dinner on Friday was very well supported by over 230 with special guests Liam O’Neill and Andy Kettle in attendance. On Saturday, our hurlers fought out a draw with Naomh Olaf in the senior B championship curtain raiser. In the main event, Jim Gavin’s Dublin team saw off the challenge of Galway. Many thanks are extended to all the volunteers who graciously gave their time and effort and without who the successful running of the event would not have been possible. Also special thanks to Jimmy Lee and his team for running a very efficient bar over a very busy weekend. Membership is now overdue.
