Our ladies victory in the Dublin Intermediate final earned the team the honour of The Echo Team of the Month for July. The Echo’s summary is below. Well done to the ladies.
ROUND TOWERS senior ladies football team made July a month to remember after they captured the Dublin Intermediate Championship title for the very first time.A 2-9 to 1-9 triumph over Clontarf in the decider at Parnell Park marked the completion of a superb campaign by the Clondalkin side.In the end it was an Emily Hamill goal ten minutes from time that effectively separated the side’s at the final whistle.Indeed it had proven a titanic struggle to make it over the finish line with their northside rivals continuing to push all the way.But strong starts in each half helped Towers to secure the crucial win.The team, under captain Ruth Collins, boasts a huge amount of talent in the likes of former Dublin player Maria Kavanagh as well as Hannah Tyrell and Natalie Behan who are involved with the Dublin B squad.
