Our Under 8 boys hurlers recorded their second victory in 3 starts against a strong Thomas Davis side last Sunday, February 1st. It was nip and tuck until a great strike by Daniel Lindopp opened the scoring after 10 minutes. Davis came back but were denied by some great defensive play by Cilian McNamara, Joshua Rafferty and Conor Quinlan. Any thing getting past the defence was dealt with is style by Kian O’Flynn. Some great approach play by Eoghan Kinlough Byrne and Daragh McKenna led to another opportunity for Lindopp which he converted in style. Jack Fogarty and Leon Bailey came on to bolster the Towers effort and showed some lovely touches. A free from Aaron Byrne was deflected to the net by Daniel Lindopp to make it 3-0 and Towers weren’t going to lose from there. Zach McElroy and Daragh McGowan worked hard to keep Davis’ at bay and Sean Tuite then came on to make his contribution. The team has improved steadily from week to week and we are looking forward to our next encounter next Sunday. A special word of thanks to all the parents and supporters who made the trip to Gormanstown.
