Under 8 Camogie Blitz

The u8 camog’s travelled over to Garda Westmanston on Sunday for their third blitz of the year, writes Angela Quinlan. With 18 girls lining out we were again able to put out two very competitive teams with a few more girls on board it won’t be too long before we’re in a position to put out three teams which would be very promising for the future of camogie in the club.
With both teams playing two games it was another opportunity for our girls to put into use what they’re learning when practicing at home and also at Monastery Road every Wednesday. As usual the girls got stuck in from the start with both teams scoring a good few goals from a wide spread of players. The girls get the opportunity in Go games to play in all positions giving everyone a chance to play and learn what’s required in the different positions on the pitch.
Only one goal conceded it was encouraging to see how hard our girls battled to keep the sliothar from crossing our line from start to finish in every game. At the end our girls could travel back to Clondalkin happy that they had played well throughout and enjoyed the trip out to the countryside.

Our next blitz is on May 8th which is our first home game of the year. Training continues as usual every Wednesday at 4.30pm. The venue is Monastery Road at present but we will be going out on grass in the near future.

Team: Kitty Quinlan, Tara Kelly, Imogen Sullivan, Elsie White, Aoife Whelan, Katie Manning, Grace Keegan, Hannah Flynn, Orla Downes, Éabha Milton, Chloe Nicholson, Kayleigh Carroll, Eva Ní Laocha, Lauren Kiernan, Ruby Swayne, Zoe Schull, Nora Jane Walsh and Kara Lynham Clarke.

Camogie training is on Wednesday 4.30-5.30pm, Monastery Road. New players always welcome-let’s aim for a third team.
