Under 8 girls continue to develop footballing skills

Our Under 8 girls played against Cabinteely-Foxrock on the Monastery Road on Sunday 12th October. Match report by Maria Shannon.

It was a sunny Sunday morning as we welcomed Cabinteely-Foxrock to the Monastery Road.

This was a tough game for our girls from good opposition but it gave them a chance to put their skills to good use.

Plenty of tackling, passing and punt kicking – getting the ball to their team mates and getting through a pretty tough defence.

It was also a good run out for our new players, some of whom were playing their first match for Towers.

It was a chance to see the skills they were learning in training put to good use on the pitch.

They were also getting plenty of encouragement, not just from their mentors but from their team mates who’ve been there for a while.

Good game girls, onwards and upwards.
