With St Maurs home pitches deemed unplayable on Friday due to the recent wet spell Towers came up with the goods on a number of fronts; we provided a venue that was playable, two fine performances by both of our teams and plenty of support from families and friends. View Ted Keane pictures of the game here.
There was a strong breeze blowing across the community center pitches this afternoon with Towers loosing the toss and St Maurs choosing to play with the wind. Loosing the toss didn’t stop the green and white of Towers; our Girls competed from the throw-in with good link play, fine shielding and blocking and good spacial awareness on and off the ball. The girls marked Maurs kick outs throughout the game and the pressure paid dividends. The Girls applied their team motto of ‘Standing Tall’, winning the 1st ball and contesting for every other. The Towers Girls fitness is improving as the weeks roll in.
Really encouraging performance Girls. Well done to all.
