UNDER15 HURLING  CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI -FINAL

ROUND TOWERS 1.15  LUCAN SARSFIELDS 1.16

The hurlers faced their old rivals in Moyle Park on Sunday morning it started off with Towers getting off to a good start and getting a few points on the score board ahead of Lucan.

Both teams got into their stride and it was score for score right up to half time where the teams went into the break level.

The second half started much the same as before and Towers looked to be in trouble when we lost a player due to two yellow cards.

This drove our lads on and they never gave up and when the full time whistle blew we were back to a drawn game. Two ten minutes of extra time followed and the game was drawn again with less then1min to go when Lucan got a 21 yard free which should have been a free out to us ,however Lucan scored and the game ended on the puck out.

To say the lads were gutted would be an understatement but they gave their all on the pitch and have to be praised for their never say die attitude.

Well done to one and all and thanks to every body for the support us on the day.

As a footnote a special word of praise to Shane Young and Gary Quinlivan, Shane who had to be carried off at the end with injuries to many to mention and Gary with his incredible display of free taking that would put many senior players to shame. Roll on next season.
