Towers under 14 camogs travelled the short distance to Willisbrook, Lucan for this local match and the two teams were at full strength. Looking to capitalise after last weeks moral victory, Towers were pushed hard for the first 15 minutes with Lucan constantly attacking. The excellent goal keeping from Lauren Egan and good defensive work of full backs Fiona Walsh, Shannon Sheridan and Croia Byrne kept Lucan Sarsfields at bay.

After twenty minutes Towers got themselves out of the mire when A

 is

ling Seery and Aibí Ward pushed forward and Emma O’Malley struck a brilliant point over the bar. Towers missed two more points, but in the twentieth minute the young Towers star O’Malley struck another point over after some good play from Ceola Ni Fhearghaíl and Caoilfhionn Ní Dheoráin.

Five minutes later and Towers went three points up after Emma O’ Malley struck another great point over the bar.  With just minutes to go for the break, Lucan took the wind out of Towers and scored a fine goal leaving both sides all square

 at the break

.

Croia Byrne gave a good captain’s talk during the interval and Towers went out very motivated. In the fortieth minute and from a very acute angle Martha Kirk scored a brilliant goal set up by O’Malley and Clark. Towers piled on the pressure with Lauren Davis, Hannah Clark and Saoirse Walsh working well and in the fiftieth minute that girl Kirk struck again with a well taken goal and her eighth in two weeks.

Lucan responded well with their number ten causing havoc and they scored their second goal. With ten minutes to go and towers three points ahead this

 thrilling game

was not for the fainthearted.  Lucan kept up the pressure and Towers responded well showing their determination by defending well and ran out winners

in the end in what was a great signs of things to come this season for the young Camog’s. Towers Abú!!!!
