Summerfest 2011 has proven to be an enormous success and concluded last Saturday, July 23rd. Almost 1,000 children from Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow took to the hurling fields in Corkagh Park to participate in the event that was organised and hosted by Round Tower GAA Club.
Over 20 clubs competed in the competition at Under 8, 9, 10 and 11 levels and enormous credit must go to the tournament organisers, who made it a very fun and entertaining event for the children, their mentors, parents and supporters.

Eric Byrne, a Summerfest organiser said: "We’re delighted with how the second Summerfest tournament went and over 1,000 people turned out to watch and support it over four weekends. It allowed children to take to the hurling fields and develop their skills in a competitive but fun tournament. Friendships are being formed with clubs across Dublin and further beyond and we’ll hope to build on the success of this year’s tournament."
