The young camogs had looked forward to this encounter all week after three successive wins on the trot. They didn’t disappoint their supporters after what was the best performance since they began playing. A hectic start with the Clondalkin side pushing from the go and on the eighth minute Lauren Doyle scored her first goal of the season with a calmness that belies her young age after a smart pass from Martha Kirk.

Three minutes later Emma O’ Malley pucked a lovely point after tenacious battling which showed why she has been selected for her county. Two minutes O’ Malley struck again with a fine point after good work from Saoirse Walsh and Lauren Davis. Commercials tried as hard as they could but in the first half they couldn’t get pass the midfield due of Ní Dheoráin and Ward and stout work from Lauren Egan and Towers went into the interval 1-2 to 0-0.

The second half and Towers brought on some new players from their ever increasing squad, but it was the fantastic work by Crioa Byrne and Sharon Sheridan that kept Commercials frustrated in their play. With forty minutes gone Aibí Ward got hold of the Sliothar and pushed it on and Martha Kirk scored a goal, five minutes later and Kirk slammed another goal in, much helped by good work from Hannah Clark and Ashling Seery. Saoirse Tunney had a good game today and will be a player for future.

Towers team worked together for this game and showed good communication skills with each other which was missing in previous games and are now maturing into to team that will need to be watched.
