Cuala 6-6
Round Towers 2-4

The junior ladies football team took on Cuala in the cup on Wednesday 30th April, writes Caitriona McGrath. Towers started with a bang earning a well worked goal created by Olivia Newman and finished by Kate Gray. Towers added a point in quick succession coming from some hard work from Eve McDonagh. Cuala struck back in the following minutes clocking up two goals. The towers defence worked tirelessly with strong performances from Fiona Reid and Roisin Ni Dhonngain. Caitriona McGrath added a goal to the towers tally before half time. After half time the towers ladies got stuck into this tough match and worked hard throughout the field. Defenders Roisin Keating and Catherine Deane showed their skills and pushed forward with any chance they got. Sarah Jane Hecker made herself available in the forward line and added three points to the scoreboard. Cuala kept the scores ticking over for the home side and unfortunately pushed on. Despite the loss, the ladies made a great effort, with player of the match Eve McDonagh leading by example.
