The ladies of Clondalkin and the wider community are being encouraged to run, walk or crawl the Women’s Mini Marathon in aid of Round Tower GAA Club.

And you’re not being asked to do it on your own! The club has established a meet and train group that will gather initially every Saturday morning, before moving to evenings ahead of the event on June 6th.

Taking it one step at a time, the group will begin with short walks and over time, work its way up to the 10km distance. The first meet and train took place on Saturday February 12th and the plan is to switch it to a weekday evening when the weather gets brighter.

All fitness levels and ages are welcome and as well as improving people’s health, it will also act as a social outlet and be fun and enjoyable for those involved.

As well as the meet and train, the club is also running a light exercise session in its clubhouse on Convent Road on Thursday evenings for a few weeks. This runs from 8.30pm for an hour and will offer light training and stretching for those not used to exercise.

Round Towers is keen to welcome members and non-members to participate in this very worthwhile, healthy and fun initiative that will bring people together for an organisation that is running healthy activities for young and old, male and female in the Clondalkin community.

Anyone with any queries or interested in participating can contact Caitriona at 087 9619466.
