Participants sought: The GAA Commemorates 1916

Dear Member,

On Saturday 24th April at the National League Football Finals, the GAA will commemorate in Croke Park the Easter 1916 Rising. This will be a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ event as a Grand Citizens Parade bringing together 1,000 volunteers from GAA Clubs across Ireland will take place on the Croke Park pitch.

Round Tower GAA Club is looking for participants to participate. The event organisers are seeking, ideally, between 10 and 30 members representing every club in Ireland. All involved must be over 18 years of age and what is wanted is a mix of women and men’s teams of all GAA sports.

You will receive a wristband on entry and this will allow you to watch both games without having to buy a ticket. The Dubs take on Kerry at 3.30pm. Please keep in mind that this will be a very long day, as you need to be at the Stadium for 8.30am. The GAA is promising a spectacular celebration during this memorial, coinciding with the direct anniversary of 1916. Memories of your participation will live with you for decades to come.

We want adult volunteers and if you are interested in participating you can contact Dean Alford at 086 1035874 or email Dean at dean.m.alford@gmail.com. Please contact Dean ASAP and ideally by close of business this Friday, 15th April.
