With the title and promotion already won Towers took the field in the Community pitch for the end of season game against a Lusk team that had travelled despite the heavy rainfall to fulfil a fixture that they could easily have conceded . Thankfully the weather cleared for the start of the match and despite the heavy underfoot conditions the home team started with a number of points with Eoin Fitzgerald getting the opening score and continuing the good scoring form that he’s showed since his move to the forwards. Midway through the first half Martin Doyle raised a green flag with a shot that deceived the Lusk keeper. At half time Towers led by 1-13 to no score.

The second half saw Towers continue to put scores on the board and the second goal came courtesy of Eoin Hutchinson who intercepted a puck out from the Lusk keeper and buried the ball to the net to chalk up his 12th goal of the season .

The final whistle saw Towers comprehensive winners and retain their unbeaten league form. With 14 wins and 1 draw from 15 games Towers enjoyed a very successful league campaign and except for a semi final loss in the championship could easily have won the double.

It’s been a year of great progress under Fergal McDonagh and Declan Rafferty and hopefully this year can be the foundation for future success. With some good minors coming through the future looks bright .
