Intermediate Hurling Championship Group 1

Round Tower 1-10

Commercials 0-9

Our Intermediate hurlers saw off the challenge of Commercials on a tough evening for hurling in the Community Centre last Wednesday, May 9th. Towers were off to a great start when a high ball into the Commercials box broke to full forward Fergal McDonagh who finished to the net. The first half saw two goals harshly disallowed for the home side with Barry Finn the unlucky non-goalscorer on both occasions. Towers led 1-5 to 0-5 at half-time and an excellent display from the half-back line of Eoin Young, Craig Curtis and Eoin Walsh help see of a resilient Commercials side. Jack Whelan scored five points for the home side and Mark Keane (0-2), Alex Darbey (0-2) and Eric Finn (0-1) were the Towers point scores.

The Intermediate Hurlers will next play their rescheduled championship fixture against Good Counsel this coming Saturday, May 12th at Galtymore Road, with throw-in at 6pm. All support is welcome.
