3rd & 4th class girls football blitz

180 girls from 3rd and 4th classes descended on Monastery Road Thursday 4th June for a very special girls football blitz. Round Tower was delighted to host the girls and the weather was fabulous, helping to ensure a great time was enjoyed by those participating.

James Glancy, Round Tower GPO said: “It was a great success and the girl’s showed fantastic enthusiasm and skills. Feedback was extremely positive and we’re now encouraging the girls who are new to Gaelic Games but want to try them out to do so through their local club – Round Tower.”

Training for Under 8 and Under 9 girls football takes place in Round Tower GAA Club’s state-of-the-art all-weather playing surface at Monastery Road every Thursday from 5.45pm – 6.45pm.

James extended thanks to all who assisted with the blitz, particularly the teachers in each of the respective schools, and to our very own Marie Crotty, Ken and Michelle Byrne, Sean McNamara, Gerry Banks and their young helpers.
