Under 9 Girls Football report V Ballinteer St. Johns

By on January 27, 2015

Round Tower’s under 9’s girls faced Ballinteer St. Johns on Sunday January 25th 2015; match report by Maria Shannon.

It may have been a long Christmas break for the girls but their team work hasn’t faltered especially in a game with a number of firsts for them.

It was their first game as an under 9’s side and their first ever 40 minute match.

However, that didn’t put them off especially against two teams from a side they’ve faced a few times over the last year.

They played their defensive roles well, especially against forwards who were trying to keep the ball.

Midfielders were getting the ball up to their forwards and there were goals and points scored despite the strong breeze.

It’s always good to get the first match off the ground, here’s to a great season.
