Under 16 Footballers off to winning start

Last Saturday saw  the U16 Footballers commence their League campaign against Ballinteer St Johns. It was a much awaited match, as it was the first league match  for new starter Joey Leech. Ballinteer got off to a good start and went 2 points ahead, however Towers responded with 3 goals and 2 points from full forward Aaron Whelan. These goals were created by the runs made by Joe Murray & the half forward line.

Ballinteer pushed forward however Towers defence were solid making it difficult for them to break through.

Leech’s debut was impressive with three well taken points in the first half, followed by another three in the second half. It was a solid opening performance by the U16’s lads with the final score Round Towers 6 -10 Ballinteer 2-8.

The Lads face Cuala next Saturday 10th February in the Community Centre @ 3pm- All support welcome
