Ladies Gaelic Football Association President Marie Hickey message

I am writing to you as the time gets closer and closer to the All-Ireland finals, on the last Sunday of September. We have had some great games in the TG4 championship so far and things are shaping up well for great TG4 All Ireland finals. At this time I am appealing to all clubs throughout the country to ask their members to come out and support the players in these crucial games. As you know the inter-county players involved give great commitment and dedication to the sport. I am asking every member of the LGFA to show similar dedication and commitment to the players as they run onto the field of play to represent their counties. This game and your sport needs you and your club members to come out in force to the TG4 All Ireland Finals. We constantly strive for recognition of our players talents and to promote the game at all levels throughout the country, every club can make a contribution to this effort by getting out and showing support for the game we all love so dearly. This year we are striving to have the largest ever crowd in Croke Park for TG4 Ladies final day, please be part of our efforts to change the record this year and show the country the great support and enthusiasm there is amongst our members for our sport. It begs the question ‘if we don’t support our own then who will?’ These teams certainly deserve our support, please give it.
