Under 9 Camogie v Skerries Harps

With the All-Ireland final on in the afternoon and those lucky enough to have tickets for it looking forward to it, the camogie players of Towers and Skerries Harps took to the pitch in Monastery Road.

Towers with 18 girls out on the day and Skerries having a few more agreed to play 8/9 a side games to ensure all the girls got as much game time as possible. The Towers girls right from the start dominated the games, displaying some great skill and team work. Their confidence is growing by the week and it was great to see so many girls lifting the ball and getting it into their hand. With a crowded enough pitch it was very encouraging to see the girls hand-passing the ball and striking it in the air despite some great pressure from the Skerries girls. This lead to a number of scores so well done girls and keep up the practice.

With a few players unavailable for the blitz, a number of under 8 girls played on the day so a big thank you to those girls and their parents. They all played very well, the future for camogie in the club looks very bright.

New players are always welcome, for more information contact Angela Quinlan 087-2453775.
